NEW AIRPORT IN THE JUNGLE

Finally the Ecuadorean Government finished the Jumandy Airport located 35KM from the city of Tena, the capital of the Napo Province.

The construction began in year 2008 and the terminal has international standards in order to operate also flights  between the city of Manta on the coast of Ecuador and Manaus in the Brazilian jungle, with an stopover in Jumandy airport in Ecuador.

There will be also flights from/to – Quito/Tena, which will be fantastic as we can design trips going by car from Quito to Tena area over the Andes, that will take 4 hrs driving through the highlands, cloud forest and finally arriving to the rain forest, and staying in one of the lodges of the area. The return to Quito will be done by plane in just 30 minutes. This trip will allow us to offer different itineraries, leaving Quito either north east, going straight to the jungle or travelling by the avenue of the volcanoes south-east ending in the rain forest, all of this can be done from 3 to 5 days with an extraordinary variety in terms of ecosystems, flora, fauna, beautiful landscapes, colonial haciendas and also indigenous cultures.

NEW BOUTIQUE HOTEL - CASA GANGOTENA

Our colleague Mr Fernando Delgado is the General Manager of this fantastic property

It is a real privileged to be one of the first ones to see how this mansion is being renovated to be the best boutique Hotel in Ecuador. One of the things that impressed us are the social areas, cozy and comfortable rooms,  very elegant decorations and fantastic views of the colonial city.

We will keep you posted as the hotel should be ready by early November. As you might understand to renovate this type of colonial houses is not easy and there are always last minute surprises to look after.

We invite you to visit the Hotel Casa Gangotena when you travel to Ecuador.

Below you will find some photos we took for you to have an idea of this glamorous place.
