Peruvian desert, most similar to original Dakar in Africa

The winner of the Arequipa - Nasca stage in the quad category, Argentine Marcos Patronelli, stated that the Peruvian desert is the most similar to the ones in the original Dakar, which crossed the Sahara Desert, in Africa.

Argentine brothers Alejandro and Marcos Patronelli, who have shown their skills as drivers, were the first in the quad category to finish the twelfth stage, one of the hardest ones due to the impressive dunes between Arequipa and Nasca.

"Perhaps all the drivers remember the old Dakar, in Africa. Peruvian deserts are incredible, it was actually a pretty complicated stage," Marcos commented.

"I didn't know anything about Peru, but I'm really enjoying it and I will continue doing so and arrive in Lima."
